Roman Blind Cord Release Safety Video

Our Roman blinds are fitted with a child safety cord release mechanism designed to reduce the risk of entanglement. If a child or pet becomes caught in the rear cords of a Roman blind, this device is engineered to release automatically when a force of less than 6kg is applied — helping to prevent accidental injury.

While this mechanism is a key safety feature, it may occasionally trigger during use or cleaning. When that happens, it’s easy to reconnect the cords following the correct steps.

The video below provides a step-by-step guide on how to safely reconnect the cord to the safety breakaway device. It’s important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure continued safe operation of the blind.

We always recommend regular checks of child safety features on all blinds. If you’re unsure or would like further help, please contact our team or speak with your local advisor.

Child safety is a legal requirement under BS EN 13120, and we take this responsibility seriously across all of our products — especially those fitted in homes with young children.
