Shutters are far more effective than Venetian Blinds at blocking out light but you will see some light pollution around the slats and doors.

A Full Height Shutter is the best option as there are fewer gaps to let light in and if its for a bedroom we have the option to make the top slats independent to the lower slats so you can open the top to let in natural light in whilst getting dressed whilst maintaining some privacy.
