Roller Blinds for Bathrooms โ Practical, Stylish & Moisture-Resistant
Bathrooms require window coverings that can withstand high humidity, condensation, and occasional direct water exposure. Roller blinds are a fantastic choice, as they can be fitted to keep the windowsill clear while providing privacy and light control. However, not all roller blind fabrics are suitable for bathroom environments, so we always recommend speaking to our team for expert guidance on the best options.
Choosing the Right Fabric for a Bathroom
We offer a carefully selected range of fabrics designed to handle bathroom conditions. The right choice will depend on how much moisture or direct water exposure is expected:
โข Splash-Proof Fabrics โ These are moisture-resistant and ideal for bathrooms where condensation is present but the blind is not in direct contact with water. They help prevent mould and mildew buildup while offering a stylish and practical solution.
โข Fully Waterproof & Scrubbable Fabrics โ For areas where the blind is likely to get wet regularly, such as next to a bath or shower, we recommend PVC-reinforced fabrics. These are completely waterproof, highly durable, and easy to wipe clean, making them an excellent long-term option.
Since not every fabric is suitable for a bathroom, we strongly advise speaking with our team to ensure the best choice for your space.
Durable & Rust-Resistant Components
All of our bathroom roller blinds include:
โ Aluminium Tubes โ Unlike untreated metal or cardboard tubes, our aluminium tubes wonโt rust or degrade in humid conditions.
โ Mould-Resistant & Easy-to-Clean Finishes โ Many of our fabrics include anti-microbial coatings to help prevent mould and mildew growth, and most can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Light Control & Privacy Considerations
Privacy is essential in a bathroom, but itโs also important to maintain a safe and well-lit environment. For this reason:
- We do not recommend blackout fabrics โ While blackout fabrics provide maximum privacy, they also significantly reduce light levels, which can be unsafe in a bathroom where slipping is a concern.
- We do not recommend day & night roller blinds โ These blinds use delicate fabrics that are not suited to high-humidity environments, making them less durable for bathroom use.
Instead, we recommend:
โ Moisture-Resistant Light-Filtering Fabrics โ These allow natural light to enter while ensuring privacy, particularly when paired with frosted glass windows.
โ Frosted or Textured Designs โ Some fabrics offer a semi-transparent effect that diffuses light while maintaining privacy.
