Reducing Summer Sun and Heat
We have finally reached May, the sun is out for the Bank Holidays and it’s time for a BBQ or 2.
However this is also the beginning of an increase in Sunlight.
If you have a South Facing Window or Conservatory then the heat levels will increase astronomically.
Particularly if the hot midday sun is not kept in check.
This is where we can assist in helping you reduce the summer sun and heat.
Roller Blinds
We have a wide range of Roller Blinds which dim out a fair portion of the light and heat entering the room.
If the room has a particularly sunny outlook we have Solar Reflective Coatings on the Back of selected Fabrics.
These coatings can reflect up to 70% of the hot rays of the sun.
This can keep your room more comfortable from both a light and heat perspective.
Motorisation is now possible and can be set up with a SMART Hub in order to control your blinds.
This can be via Remote Control, a Mobile App or even under instruction from Alexa, or another Digital Assistant.
The SMART Hub also allows a timer to be set up to lower your blinds
They can be set to operate at specific times in order to avoid heat gain during the hottest part of the day.
It can and then be set to raise the blinds later when the Hot Mid Day Sun had done its worst.
We also have a hub that knows the Sunrise and Sunset times locally and can be set to operate at these times.
Vertical Blinds
In the same way as roller blinds we can supply Vertical Blinds using Solar Reflective Fabrics.
These are great for shading bifold doors and have the advantage that they can be pulled back when not required.
Pleated Blinds
Another type of blind that uses Solar Reflective Coatings is Pleated Blinds.
These concertina either up or down in the window and so can be controlled very specifically to your particular aspect or requirements.
Pleated blinds can be fitted near the glass in the window and so are quite discreet when not in use.
Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds are also available which fit within a frame around the blinds.
They look like part of the window itself.
This is particularly useful for use on doors as the blinds moves with the door when it opens.
As you can see we have many solutions to assist in reducing the summer sun and heat in your home.
