🔧 Types of Electric Venetian Blinds
We offer Electric Venetian Blinds in Wood, Faux Wood, Aluminium, and Perfect Fit Aluminium formats. Depending on the style, you can choose tilt-only motorisation or tilt and lift functionality — perfect for adjusting privacy, light, or completely raising the blind when needed.
All motor types come with lithium-ion battery power as standard, and smart hub integration is available across most ranges.

Note: Motorised lift is not available in Perfect Fit frames.
✅ Key Factors That Influence Tilt vs Lift
- Blind material – Aluminium is lighter and supports full motorisation more easily
- Blind size – Larger and heavier blinds may be tilt-only to ensure safe operation
- Motor type – Some blinds use compact motors ideal for tilt, while others support both
- Power supply – All blinds use lithium-ion batteries as standard; mains power is recommended for lifting heavier blinds
🧠 Why Tilt-Only Still Works Brilliantly
- ✅ Synchronise multiple blinds to tilt at the same angle
- ✅ Perfect for bay windows or multi-section spaces
- ✅ Slats can be set to open, close, or align to let in just the right amount of light
- ✅ Clean look and improved privacy, especially at the front of the home
Lift functionality is available on selected sizes and ranges — we’ll advise the best fit during your consultation.
🔋 Battery Power and Charging
All of our Electric Venetian Blinds come with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery as standard. These are designed to run quietly and efficiently — without the need for hardwiring or daily attention.
✅ What to Expect from Battery Power
- Tilt-only blinds typically last up to 6 months per charge, depending on usage
- Tilt & lift blinds may need charging more often, especially with heavier blinds
- Each blind includes a charging port — simply plug in the charger when needed
- Some motors include a Magnetic Connector, allowing quick & easycharging
- We supply 1 or 2 chargers per household – no need to charge all blinds at once
- Ideal for setups with multiple blinds where plug socket access is limited
⚡ Mains Power Option
For larger or heavier blinds, mains power is available as an alternative.
We supply this with a plug connection — if you wish to connect it to a fused spur or hardwire it, this will need to be arranged with a qualified electrician.
Not sure which power option suits your layout? We’ll help you decide.
🎮 Control Options
From Simple Remotes to Full Smart Automation
Every Electric Venetian Blind can be controlled with either a standard remote or a Smart Hub — giving you the flexibility to choose the level of control that suits your lifestyle.
✅ Remote Control (Simple and Reliable)
- Use a single remote to control one or multiple blinds
- Adjust slats individually or in sync
- Available in multi-channel options for grouped operation
- Compact, easy to use, no internet required
🌐 Upgrade to Smart Hub Control (Full Automation)
If you want more than just a remote, a Smart Hub opens up a world of possibilities:
- ✅ App control – Open, close, or tilt your blinds from your phone
- ✅ Voice control – Compatible with:
- Amazon Alexa
- Google Assistant
- Apple HomeKit
- ✅ Create groups & zones – Operate multiple blinds as one – “Bay window blinds”
- ✅ Timers & schedules – Automate your blinds based on time of day
- ✅ Scene creation – Set “Morning”, “Evening”, or “Away” modes
- ✅ Sunlight & temperature control – Use optional sensors to adjust blinds based on sunlight or temperature
🧠 Energy-Saving Benefits
🧼 Cleaning & Maintaining Electric Venetian Blinds
Venetian Blinds are easy to care for — and regular light maintenance will help them stay looking great and working smoothly for years to come.
🪶 Dusting Your Slats
- ✅ Use an ostrich feather duster for the best results
- ✅ Lightly sweep side to side, then top to bottom, front and back
- ✅ Tilt slats in the opposite direction and repeat
- ✅ This works equally well on wood, faux wood, & aluminium slats
Regular light dusting (once a week or fortnight) prevents build-up and keeps blinds operating smoothly.
💧 Occasional Wipe-Down
- Use a damp cloth followed by a dry, soft cloth
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing — especially on painted or coated slats
- Faux wood and aluminium slats are more wipe-friendly
- Wooden blinds benefit from gentle care — dusting is usually sufficient
🔋 Battery Maintenance
All Electric Venetian Blinds are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
- Battery charge usually lasts up to 6 months for tilt-only blinds
- For tilt and lift blinds, you may need to charge more often — depending on blind size and usage
- We recommend charging one blind at a time, especially if plug access is limited
- Most motors support Magnetic Charging Ports or direct plug-in charging
If you’re using a smart hub and app, you can easily check battery levels and plan your top-ups before the power runs out.
Tip: Try recharging blinds when they drop below 30% — this keeps everything running smoothly and prevents gaps in automation.
🔒 Privacy Control with Electric Venetian Blinds
Electric Venetian Blinds are one of the most effective and flexible solutions for maintaining privacy — particularly at the front of your home.
- ✅ Tilt the slats to block views from outside while still letting in natural light
- ✅ Adjust blinds individually or in sync for full control across multiple windows
- ✅ Great for ground floor rooms and street-facing windows
- ✅ Remote or app control means no cords or climbing – just adjust
Whether you want subtle daylight control or complete privacy in the evening, you can fine-tune the angle of the slats to suit your space.
🪟 Bay Windows
A Practical and Stylish Fit
Venetian Blinds are a popular choice for bay windows, and electric control makes them even more convenient — especially when operating multiple panels.
✅ Tilt all your blinds to the same angle at once
✅ Raise or lower blinds from a single remote or app (where lift is supported)
✅ Smart hubs allow you to group the bay as a “scene”– great for routines
✅ Perfect for maintaining privacy without sacrificing light
Note: Tilt and lift motorisation is available on selected ranges and sizes. We’ll advise what’s best for your bay layout during consultation.

How do I charge the battery?
Just plug the charger directly into the charging port at the top of the blind. Some models feature Magnetic Power Connectors, which make this even easier by snapping into place without needing to plug in.
Do I need a charger for every blind?
Not at all. Most customers find one or two chargers is plenty — you can charge each blind in turn, rather than needing a socket for every window at once.
Can I control more than one blind from the same remote?
Absolutely. Most remotes can be programmed to control multiple blinds — either individually, in pairs, or as a group.
Can I use a timer or schedule with motorised blinds?
Are motorised Venetian blinds suitable for bay windows?
Yes — especially for tilt-only setups, which allow you to control multiple blinds together and keep slats aligned. Tilt and lift is available on selected sizes and blind types; we’ll advise the best fit for your layout.
Can I still use my blinds if the battery runs out?
No — once the battery is fully depleted, the blind will stop responding. This is why we recommend topping up the charge when you receive a low battery warning via your remote or app, rather than waiting for it to go flat.
What happens if I leave the battery uncharged for too long?
If the battery is left completely flat for an extended period (e.g. while you’re on holiday), it may become unresponsive and potentially degrade. To keep your blinds healthy, we recommend recharging before extended periods of non-use.
